New Sofia Coppola Film!!!!

Last week I found out on IMDB that there is soon to be a new Sofia Coppola film in theatres in America, on December 22 (unfortunately it's a limited release). The movie is called, "Somewhere." From what I saw in the preview it looks very similar to, "Lost In Translation." Stephen Dorff, Elle Fanning, Michelle Monaghan, and Benecio Del Toro are all in the film. "Somewhere," is about an actor staying at Chateau Marmont Hotel that gets a visit from his young daughter who causes a change in him that gives him a completely different and new outlook on his life. Sounds very similar to Charlotte and Bob in Lost In Translation, but with a different story. Can not wait until it is on DVD to buy because there is no way I will be able to attend any of the movie screenings, but am really looking forward to seeing a new Sofia Coppola film!!!

What happened to tv?

Since when did fake tv shows with absolutely no storyline replace tv shows that actually have a good storyline, cast, and plot? It's really sad that now people are really wanting to watch these assholes on tv yell at each other and talk shit about one another instead of watching something that has more going for it.

Why not get rid of all the shows like; For the Love Ray Jay, Jershey Shore, all the Bret Michaels bullshitt, and all these reality pregnancy shows. Channels would be better off without all this crap that is just polluting tv,and the minds of millions of viewers.

Now instead of kids growing up watching cartoons, their going to grow up watching all the fake drama and bullshitt of reality tv.

NORML article

I read a really interesting and kind of scary article about a drug raid at a house in Missouri. I didn't believe the article until I actually saw the video. The article was about a man that was in possession of enough marijuana for a misdemeanor (an ounce) and had his home raided. Also about the family losing custody of their kid because of child endangerment.
From what I saw in the video it looked to me like the police that were busting into the house yelling and then shooting the families two dogs right in front of the child should be considered child endangerment instead of possession of a harmless plant. The way the cops acted and treated the man was just really scary. They treated the man like he had just killed somebody. Like he was a criminal.
It's a truly terrifying thought that the DEA has the power to invade someones home and shoot and kill someones pets if they know someone is in possession of marijuana, even if it's only an ounce.
This is just getting more and more ridiculous. What is really accomplished by the DEA when stuff like this is done? They put one more person behind bars or in a cell for the night, but all for what? A harmless plant. Why not just legalize and let people smoke.

"Otis" film

I bought the film "Otis" on Friday night. I watched it Saturday night, it was a good movie. The characters were really interesting, and strange. The actor who played Otis is very talented, and should be cast in more films. The character Otis is a phycotic with a strange, awkward mix of innocence blended in. Otis really makes you want to hate him but at the same time take pity on him.
Most of the dialogue in the film was pretty funny. There were a couple of conversations in the film that kind of gave the film some very awkward moments. The torture scenes of the family getting revenge on Otis's brother were gory and quite funny.
The cast consisted of Ileanna Douglas, Daniel Stern, and three new actors that were very good.
The only disapointing part of the film was the ending. I really expected a better ending or at least a longer ending that answered some of the questions left open in the film. The ending of Otis is way too short and simple, and very unrealistic.
All in all it was still a good movie and well worth the money I spent on it.

What I did this week.

I managed to write two more outlines with different storylines and endings for my "Loner Town" script idea. Came up with a new idea for a script, sleep deprivation.
Not much happened at school as usual. I found out that I passed my math class for the nine weeks. Yay. I am pretty sure that I managed to pass my english class, with a D again.
I worked on Monday and Wednesday, and I work today too. I had to close on Wednesday, that sucked. It's probably going to suck today too. I like this job but I hate closing because I have to do dishes and I hate doing dishes.
It's Spring Break! That's awesome, I can finnaly get some sleep! I'm probably just going to be working and sleeping all spring break, which is cool because I enjoy money and sleeping.
I also made plans with my friends for Sunday night. Sunday night should be fun, two of my friends and I are going to "celebrate" the beginning of spring break.
I realized that there are only going to be 9 weeks left after spring break! This makes me very happy! I am tired of high school, well not really high school just some of my classmates that are not very nice, I look forward to not having to deal with their bs anymore.

Music Video for L.E.S. Artists

I finally saw all of Santogolds music video for L.E.S. Artists and I loved it! The music video is just full of art. The whole video is just so simple but yet amazing. I loved the movements the two women in the video did. The shots of Santogold on the black horse and the two women standing beside her were really neat. Different shots of the horse and the ones with the stuff that looked like it was snowing soot were amazing! I loved the background trees and the lighting that was used in the video.
I thought the best shot out of the whole video was at the very beginning when it fades in and you are shown the two women, the horse, and Santogold. Their facial expressions during the video were really simple but went great with the video. The use of paint and different objects to symbolize different things happening in the video was a great idea.
I loved the music video, it is definately one of my favorite music videos now. I highly recommend this video to people who really like art.

Fangoria article about The New Wolfman movie

I read part two of The Wolfman article in the March issue of Fangoria. All I can say is wow. The article had many pictures of the whole process of the makeup they put on Benicio Del Toro (The Wolfman). It's so amazing what they can do now with just makeup.
What I thought was really interesting was that they just used cgi for the transformation scenes and not the whole movie. I really thought they would have just done that but instead they put the actor in makeup after the transformation scenes, which is a lot cooler. That enabled the actor to actually get more into character and actually become The Wolfman, instead of just putting him in front of a green screen.
I forgot the name of the man they hired to do the makeup for The Wolfman, but he and the makeup team did an amazing job on transforming this ordinary looking man into this menacing looking werewolf.
I am going to finally see this movie on Saturday! I really hope it's an awesome movie, but I'm not expecting it to be better than the original because the original Wolfman movie (starring Lon Chaney Jr.) is a classic monster movie, and hardly any remakes of old movies are better than the originals, but I really hope this movie is not a disapointment like the remake of The Fog was.

Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever

Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever comes out today on dvd! I read an article on it in Fangoria and the movie is
supposed to be very gory. The sequel takes place in the same town as the first movie did. The movie is centered
around the small towns high school prom. The punch at the prom is made from the contaminated water from
the resevoir. So prom goers drink it and they get infected with the flesh eating virus. Then from what I read on
the synopsis and saw in previews it looks like there are cops or government agents trying to keep all infected
and uninfected prom goers from leaving the school. So it's kind of like a struggle for the two main characters
who may or may not be infected to get out of the school before it's too late.
The sequel has one of the actors from Cabin Fever in it, Ryder Strong. The director and writer of Cabin
Fever (Eli Roth) did not write or direct the sequel.
The whole idea of making the movie about the flesh eating virus at prom seems kind of dumb, but maybe
if the movie is a total blood bath it might be ok. Maybe if the sequel had been centered around the flesh eating
virus infecting the entire town instead of going to prom the movie would at least kind of connect better with
the first one.
The movie looks like it won't be very good but it is bound to be full of gore so it might be ok.

Religion

On Saturday evening while I was cleaning, the doorbell rang and surprise surprise it was another religious dude trying to convert. I told him in a very polite way that I was not interested in what he had to say and that he should try my neighbors next door. After the third time I told him that he actually asked me what my religion was. So I told him that I no longer am part of any religion nor do I ever want to be part of one again. He did not like that, he started babbling about hell and the way to avoid hell is through repentance and converting to his faith. At that point I was very irritated and slammed the door in his face.
What is the point in people doing that? Honestly, it's ridiculous. As long as you believe that there is a god or goddess, it shouldn't matter. I really wish these people would not go door to door it's annoying. It is good believe and try to spread the word of god or whatever but it is very bad to try to shove your beliefs on other people. Especially when they are content with what they believe.

Outlet: Art

Collage work, screenwriting, songwriting, and painting are the best outlets ever.
It is so amazing how much better I feel after writing four or five pages of gore, or putting together a collage with words or pictures that express me in some way. Or even writing a few songs. These outlets are part of the reason why I get up every morning looking forward to a new day. I guess they could be considered forms of therapy because they help get people through the day.
The best part about these are that if you are the type of person who can't stand to talk about the stuff that is bothering you, you can just sit down and piece together something that resembles or expresses what you are trying to get out.
Another thing that is really cool about it is that something new and unique comes out of it.
I always wonder why they don't have patients in mental hospitals do some of this stuff, it might actually help them.

Work

I love my new job. It is so much better than being a cashier at Walmart. I can't believe I ever wanted to get that job back. Being a pizza hut delivery girl is amazing, I have finally learned where north, south, east, and west are in this town. I have already memorized where thirteen different streets are and how to get to these streets. This job is a lot easier than I thought it would be. All I have to do is wait to be dispatched to the address and deliver the pizza. When I don't have any deliveries I just do prep work which is very, very easy. All I have to do on prep is get pizza dough and breadstick dough prepared for the next day, do dishes, and take out the trash. It's a quite a bit more work than cashiering but I enjoy it, it's so much easier than dealing with really mean, unappreciative customers. The best part about this job is that I get tips! Every time I am dispatched to an address, I get a dollar tip out of the twenty I am given at the beginning of my shift.
Friday night was cool, I got seventeen dollars in tips. I thought that was good until Sunday night, I made thirty dollars in tips on Sunday night! I couldn't believe how much and how easy it was to make that much money in one night. Yesterday on Monday night I only made like nine dollars in tips. :( That's okay though Friday night isn't too far away.
On Sunday night there was one really generous customer that actually gave me a fourteen dollar tip, and a stoner customer that gave me a seven dollar tip for getting to his house on time. Sunday night was a great night for tips.
I really like my new job at Pizza Hut and I really don't think I will ever want to go back to Walmart to deal with rude, abnoxious, loud, unhappy, mean, unappreciative customers that don't understand how hard it is to keep smiling and be polite when almost everyone that came up to the register was angry at you for something you did or didn't do. But to rap this up I really enjoy my new job where the customers are just happy to see you bringing their food to them.

Classic Monster Movies

I saw the old wolfman movie and loved it. The new one looks sooo much cooler. Benecio Del Toro plays the Wolfman. Anthony Hopkins, Emily Blunt, and Hugo Weaving are in it. With a cast like that the movie should be awesome. I can't wait until it comes out. Oh it comes out February 2! Only twenty more days!
The old Wolfman movie was good, but the makeup and costume they used for the old wolfman movie was kind of comical. The old wolfman was this guy with a bunch of fur on his face and hands. The new wolfmans makeup and costume looks awesome. It's amazing what makeup artists and costume designers can do for films.
Since they did a remake of the Wolfman, I read on two different movie websites that there is talk of doing a remake of The Blob, and supposedly Frankenstein. I really hope that it's true, I loved the blob and the original Frankenstein with Borris Carloff. Bella Legosi made an amazing Dracula. Dracula is like the only movie that has been remade so many times and should not be remade anymore. I only liked two of the many Dracula movies, I liked the original Dracula with Bella Legosi, and Young Frankenstein with Gene Wilder and Peter Boyle.

The Virgin Suicides

The Virgin Suicides movie was really good. I was surprised by how well Sofia Coppola directed and wrote the script. Kirsten Dunst performance in the movie was good. No wonder she was picked for the lead in Marie Antoinette.
The way the movie started with Giovanni Ribisi narrating was awesome, it led into the youngest of the sisters attempt to commit suicide. The saddest part of the movie I thought was the ending where the other four sisters died.
Some of the scenes in the movie were just so amazing. I loved the different camera angles that were used in the movie! Especially the one where the character Lux woke up on the football field, the way it was shot and the music playing just made the scene amazing. Quite a few of the scenes gave off this feeling of eerieness.
Anyways I really enjoyed the movie and strongly reccomend.

School

Yay! I passed all my classes! I'm sooo happy. That means I'm still able to graduate with the class of 2010! Yay! I was really worried about my English class. The research paper stuff killed my grade last year when I was a Junior. Which is why I ended up going to summer school, that really sucked. But luckily for me I did ok on my English final and passed the class with a D. Not the best grade in the world but hey its passing. That was my lowest grade, my algebra two class I managed to get a C, but i am defininatly going to work harder in that class. I have a 3.0 gpa, so hopefully I qualify for the Mack Chase Scholarship. It would be great if I could get that scholarship because right now the only scholarship I know I will get for sure is the New Mexico Lottery Scholarship.
